Public transport and real stories
If you travel by public transport, you travel with the locals. Those who know the stories and those who know the roads. It is together with them you will get the chance to experience the real Nordland. If you are lucky you might get to know about a hidden beach or which mountain gives the best selfies. However, that is not the only benefit public transport gives you. Additionally, you will travel safely, and you won’t have to stress about getting hold of a rental car. Last, but not least, public transport saves the local environment from unnecessary noise, pollution, and traffic chaos.
Experience Lofoten by bus
The bus route that travels between Narvik and Å in Lofoten daily is called Lofotekspressen. If you travel with this bus, you get to see all the fantastic things Lofoten has to offer. You can choose to lean back and enjoy the scenery, or step off to experience some of the amazing activities the area has to offer – the choice is yours! Check out the timetable here. The bus is frequently used by the locals, and if you are lucky, you will get a personal guided tour by one of them.
Travel along the coast – step on and off as you please
The express boat binds the county together, and the north Norwegian spirit was created by the sea. Book your trip by express boat here. If you use Travel Pass Nordland while exploring Nordland, you can hop off the express boat, take a detour by bus, and catch up with the boat at the next harbour.
